XH558, The Spirit Of Great Britain, was the last flying Avro Vulcan. It was restored to airworthy condition by the Vulcan To The Sky Trust and recommenced displays in 2008. After seven years wowing airshow crowds, its operators decided 2015 would be the last display season. It performed a farewell tour around the UK and I caught the Sunday flypast near my home, after rushing back from a star party on the Isle of Wight. XH558’s last flight was a fortnight later.

Orientation

On Saturday, it took a northerly route. I saw the Vulcan on Sunday, the second day of its tour, when it flew near my home.
