Being both the race airport and track venue, Ascot racecourse was an exciting location for the fifth event of the 2015 Red Bull Air Race season. An Apache gunship, an RAF Chinook and the AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers were on crowd warming duties until the racing began at 2pm.

As always on race day, there were three sessions, with only one pilot in the track at a time. Pilots are times against each other in pairs in the “Round of 14”, “Round of 8” and “Final 4”.

This was my fourth Air Race – I also attended Budapest races in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
