To celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force, over a hundred of the force’s aircraft paraded for the Queen. The Red Arrows closed the RAF100 flypast but, ahead of them, twenty-two Typhoons formed ‘100’ in the skies over London. A once in a lifetime experience.
Many other events were planned for RAF100 and most took place, including a full display by the Red Arrows at Hastings.

Discrete UHF frequencies were used for coordination.
After formating north and east of London, the aircraft overflew The Mall and Buckingham Palace at 13:00. The sun was due south.
