The Imperial War Museum at Duxford hosted an extra show this year to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (8th May 1945).

There was a great collection of machines flying, including the first public displays of a Hawker Fury and the recently restored Bristol Blenheim, flown by John Romain. An unusual highlight was a combination of inter-war aircraft: Gloster Gladiator, Beech Staggerwing, Spartan Executive and a Travel Air Type-R Mystery Ship.
